Job Title: Client Special Arrangements Analyst (Biller / Collector)
Job Responsibilities:
The Client Special Arrangements Analyst is tasked with managing the complete cycle of client accounting for a specific group of high-volume, complex billing partners. This includes responsibilities across various financial processes such as work-in-progress, accounts receivable, trust, and unallocated funds. The analyst plays a critical role in understanding client contractual agreements and partner relationships to identify trends and issues that could impact profitability and client fee arrangements. Coordination with the Intake team is essential to ensure timely matter openings and to address any related delays. The role requires monitoring new clients and matters to ensure compliance with billing guidelines, invoice formats, discount arrangements, and rate settings, often working closely with the Pricing team. Collaboration with attorneys and practice group leaders is necessary to address billing requirements and resolve delinquent or partial billing issues. The analyst is responsible for using the firm's collections software to monitor outstanding accounts and partnering with the Collections team to follow up on invoices aged over 60 days. They also utilize and support the firm's electronic billing systems, communicating needs and issues to the eBilling team as needed. Analyzing financial data to recommend billing solutions and contribute to billing strategy improvements is a key responsibility. Educating attorneys on alternative fee arrangements (AFAs) and supporting their implementation is also part of the role. The analyst is expected to resolve complex billing and collections inquiries efficiently and professionally and to mentor and train junior billing team members, promoting development and process consistency.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires an , with prior experience in a law firm or the legal industry strongly preferred. The candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of electronic billing systems and best practices, along with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated experience in supporting training and adoption of new billing technologies and systems is required. Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to identifying process improvements are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is necessary. The candidate must have the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, exceptional attention to detail, and strong time management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to work professionally across teams and with diverse stakeholders.
Salary Information:
The salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $85,000, dependent on experience level and geographic location.
Other Requirements:
The role requires extensive use of a computer and telephone, as well as printing, copying, faxing, and scanning equipment. Physical requirements include occasionally sitting, standing, talking, seeing, and hearing. Mental requirements include the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with a diverse group of people. The work environment may expose the employee to weather conditions while traveling, with a moderate noise level.
