Job Title: Market Development Specialist – Asset Management & Investment Funds
Job Responsibilities:
The Market Development Specialist (MDS) will be responsible for supporting business development programs and initiatives within the law firm's Asset Management & Investment Funds (AMIF) Client Growth team. Duties include:
- Assisting the AMIF practice and its sub-groups in the development and implementation of business and client development projects.
- Leading engagement and coordination for complex projects, campaigns, and events among Centers of Excellence (COE) and support teams.
- Assisting the Pitch & Proposal COE with proposal content creation, preparing RFP and pitch responses, creating presentations, and maintaining practice qualifications for new business.
- Conducting market research to maintain knowledge of assigned practice/industry groups, including business trends and competitive landscape for legal services.
- Collaborating with Brand Marketing and Communications to ensure market-facing materials contain relevant information for clients and prospects.
- Managing external promotion efforts, including social media posts, website postings, and collateral production.
- Serving as a key contact for large-scale nationwide and global practice event sponsorships and industry associations.
- Undertaking additional projects as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or communications.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in a law firm or professional services organization is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling proposals, collateral, research reports, and client-facing presentation materials.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated service orientation.
- High level of professional maturity and confidence required to interact with sophisticated internal and external clients.
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Internet research tools is essential.
- Knowledge of CRM software is a plus.
- Good judgment, decision-making, and follow-through capabilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Strong project management, organizational, and planning skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail, flexibility to work outside of regular business hours as needed, and creativity.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Salary Information:
- Compensation Salary: $82,000 - $154,500 per year.
- The salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on factors such as prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
