The Opportunity:
As the Marketing & Business Development Manager for our New York office, you will play a key role in providing regional business development support to our full-service law firm. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Business Development, you will have a highly visible position that involves coaching attorneys on marketing and business development strategies, executing and following up on these strategies, supporting local pitch and marketing efforts, and coordinating events and local outreach. You will also collaborate with our National Business and Practice Development Teams to support department initiatives.
The Day-to-Day:
In this role, you will:
- Work with the Office Managing Partners (OMPs) and the National Business Development Team to develop and execute business development research and planning for the local and regional markets and individual lawyers.
- Develop and respond to RFPs and pitches, including gathering input from attorneys, drafting proposals, and coaching attorneys on strategy and follow-up.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of sponsorships, conferences, and memberships for local organizations.
- Coordinate and plan local events, including working with attorneys to plan content and develop targeted mailing lists.
- Assist in managing and collecting representative experience and business development actions using experience management databases and CRM systems.
- Conduct research on industries, companies, clients, and prospects.
- Drive and manage specialty initiatives and Industry groups, as needed.
You Have:
- 7+ years of experience in a similar position within a law firm environment.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- An understanding of the legal industry, particularly in the New York and adjoining markets.
- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
- The ability to think creatively and practically.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- The ability to travel, as required.

The Salary Range and Benefits:
The salary range for this role is $147,000 to $166,000 annually. This range is applicable for jobs based in New York and may vary based on relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business needs. The job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
We also offer a comprehensive package of benefits, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
