Job Title: Associate Director, Business Development (M&A)
Job Responsibilities:
The Associate Director, Business Development (M&A) at the law firm is tasked with leading and executing business development strategies for assigned M&A practices. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Practice Group Leaders and the Business Development Director, Transactional (BDDT) to establish business development priorities and plans.
- Leading the development and execution of strategies and initiatives for related practices and lawyers.
- Driving revenue generation initiatives, including client targeting and sales pipeline processes.
- Collaborating with various departments on cross-practice and cross-border opportunities.
- Building and managing a team of business development professionals.
- Partnering with BDM leadership to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and visibility.
- Providing guidance for marketing projects to ensure quality support for market awareness and promotional activities.
- Coaching senior lawyers on business development initiatives.
- Maintaining an understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and client behaviors.
- Establishing performance indicators to monitor progress and measure results.
- Developing department strategies on topics like policy and culture.
- Supporting best practices and evaluating current efforts for improvement.
- Driving innovative approaches for efficient service delivery.
- Managing certain aspects of the department's functions independently.
- Formalizing partnerships across departments to reduce redundancies and engage business services professionals.
- Leading department learning initiatives and strategic projects.
- Engaging in strategic planning by developing departmental goals and objectives.
- Coordinating department projects and overseeing operations.
- Ensuring timely responses to service requests and forecasting financial and budget requirements.
- Overseeing employees' performance and utilizing performance management processes.
- Participating in interviewing, selection, and training processes.
- Initiating disciplinary procedures in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Demonstrating effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; JD/MBA degree preferred.
- Current Assistant Director with over 2 years of experience.
- Minimum of 12 years in professional services marketing/business development; law firm experience preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of management experience.
- Management or coordination of 10 or more people or functions with global reach.
Salary Information:
The starting base salary for the position is expected to range from $325,000 to $400,000. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors.
