Norton Rose Fulbright, a prestigious global law firm, is seeking a highly qualified patent agent with at least two years of experience in patent prosecution in the field of electrical engineering. This is a dynamic and challenging role that offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with top legal minds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with inventors, researchers, and attorneys to evaluate invention technology and assess patentability
- Draft patent applications and respond to USPTO actions
- Manage portfolios and liaise with clients to develop and maintain relationships
- Stay updated on developments in the field of electrical engineering and related areas such as 5G, Wi-Fi, artificial intelligence, and image processing
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- At least two years of patent prosecution experience
- Registered with the USPTO or qualified to register
- Strong background in 5G, Wi-Fi, AI, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end
- Excellent academic credentials with strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
Additional Skills:
- Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields is preferred
Locations: This position is available in multiple offices across the US, including Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, San Antonio, San Francisco, St. Louis, and Washington, DC. Please indicate your preferred location(s) in your application.
Salary Information:
- Base annual salary in New York City, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco: $140,000-$250,000
- Salaries in other markets may vary
- Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed and dependent on individual and firm performance
