Job Title: Practice Manager - Litigation
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with firm leadership and practice group leadership to align strategic business goals, objectives, and tactics with the firm's overarching strategy.
- Develop agendas, drive follow-up actions, and ensure effective communication during regular partner and group meetings.
- Work in coordination with peers across different business support departments to manage initiatives and support business strategies as determined by practice groups.
- Gain deep understanding of the practice, clientele, sources of business, and related resources such as trade and industry organizations, publications, and related professionals for the Litigation practice group.
- Develop and manage budgets for Sections, Practice Groups, and Teams.
- Identify and leverage opportunities for practice group or team successes to benefit other practice groups, offices, or teams within the firm. Facilitate cross-selling of practice group services across the firm.
- Assist lawyers in identifying appropriate staffing for pitches and new legal matters.
- Collaborate with marketing operations and communications team members to bolster the group’s business development and visibility efforts, including participation in external events and preparation for rankings and awards submissions.
- Respond to Requests for Proposals and prepare pitches and proposals aimed at securing new business. This includes the development of content for RFPs/pitches and client presentations, ensuring that the presentation of content aligns with the firm's branding.
- Work with marketing team members to develop client/prospect collateral and sales tools.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities for thought leadership, working with communications team members to proactively generate such opportunities.
- Orient new lateral hires, assisting them in developing and implementing business development plans that consider the global platform, synergies, and cross-selling opportunities.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in professional services or a related field, with a strong preference for candidates with law firm experience.
- Strong project management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- The ideal candidate should be a team player, highly responsive, and possess the demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage multiple assignments, deal with ambiguity, and function as part of a cohesive team.
- Ability to anticipate needs and plan ahead.
