Job Title: Legal Billing Specialist
Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Billing Specialist will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of accounting functions primarily focused on billing responsibilities. The key duties include generating and distributing prebills on a monthly basis or as requested, reviewing and processing client prebills accurately and timely in accordance with the firm's and client guidelines. The specialist will process revisions to time/cost entries and adjustments as per attorney instructions, and submit completed billing via mail, e-mail, or electronic billing websites, ensuring the inclusion of supporting documentation. The role requires analyzing and tracking e-bills that require appeals due to deductions and collaborating with the firm administrator, accounting supervisor, and attorneys to address e-billing issues and accounts receivable.
In addition to billing responsibilities, the specialist will perform bank reconciliations for assigned accounts on a timely basis in accordance with firm procedures and The Florida Bar rules. This involves researching transactions as necessary and preparing monthly bank reconciliation reports for review and approval by the firm administrator and CFO.
The Legal Billing Specialist will also provide administrative support, including data entry, conflict checks, sorting and filing, and general administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and document organization as needed.
Education and Experience:
The position requires a high school degree as a minimum educational qualification. Additionally, a minimum of 3 years of legal billing or accounting experience within a professional services environment is required. Prior experience with legal billing software and electronic invoicing systems is strongly preferred. The candidate should have strong computer proficiency, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Legal Billing Specialist position is $50,000 to $55,000 per year, depending on experience. The position is classified as non-exempt and is paid hourly for hours per week. Supplemental pay includes overtime pay and a yearly bonus.

Schedule:
The work schedule is a full-time position with an 8-hour shift, typically during the day from Monday to Friday.
Other Skills and Attributes:
The ideal candidate will have experience and proficiency utilizing electronic billing websites and legal billing software applications. They should be capable of interpreting and applying complex client billing guidelines accurately. The role requires a resourceful, self-directed individual who can work in a team environment and handle demanding circumstances while maintaining collegial relationships with all firm departments and employees. The specialist must be able to handle and process a high volume of electronic bills per month and interact with clients and other vendors in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Strong interpersonal skills, detail orientation, organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities are essential. The candidate should be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
The role involves prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The candidate must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Work Environment:
