Position: Researcher
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of broad research experience required, with a Master's degree in Library Science, law degree, or other relevant advanced degree strongly preferred.

Position Summary:
The Researcher will be part of the global Practice Solutions team and will conduct substantive research across a range of practice areas for client work and business development efforts. This role will also involve coordinating and conducting attorney training, leading research projects, and participating in department strategic initiatives. The Researcher will collaborate with colleagues across White & Case offices to provide research services.
Duties and Accountabilities:
- Conduct substantive research using online and print resources to support local and global practices
- Provide competitive intelligence and background research on current or potential clients and markets for business and client development
- Assess research requests to ensure they meet stated and anticipated needs
- Educate attorneys and staff on research resources and methodology
- Use current awareness tools to create newsletters and alerts for ongoing monitoring
- Participate in evaluating and developing the research collection and piloting new services, including AI technologies
- Ensure continuing professional development and stay updated on the legal industry
- Provide cross-training and mentoring to colleagues in other offices
- Track and record billable and non-billable time spent on research services
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of broad research experience required
- Master's degree in Library Science, law degree, or other relevant advanced degree strongly preferred
- Prior experience in fields such as law firms, investment banking, consulting, accounting, or journalism preferred
- Strong research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information into actionable intelligence
- Expert knowledge of key legal and corporate-focused databases and tools preferred
- Strong data literacy skills and experience with data manipulation preferred
- Resourceful, proactive, and able to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
- Strong client service focus, with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to apply independent judgment and see the big picture
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
- Availability to work outside regular hours as needed
Location and Reporting:
- This role can be based in any of White & Case's . offices
- Reports to the Director of Research & Market Intelligence

- Chicago: 95,350 - 143,050 USD yearly
- Los Angeles: 99,350 - 149,050 USD yearly
- New York: 99,350 - 149,050 USD yearly
- Silicon Valley: 104,300 - 156,500 USD yearly
- Washington .: 99,350 - 149,050 USD yearly
