Job Title: Paralegal Sr

Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities by Competency:
- Functional Expertise:
- Assist attorneys with managing pre-litigation and litigation matters.
- Process incoming subpoenas, collect responsive information, and prepare submissions.
- Coordinate and conduct internal investigations and discovery responses.
- Prepare, under attorney supervision, non-disclosure agreements, municipal franchise ordinances, and other agreements.
- Manage invoice processing and payment for outside legal services using Company-approved software applications and applying departmental guidelines.
- Perform legal research; summarize research and/or findings.
- Provide legal support to all attorneys in the department, including check requests, vendor payee forms, IT access and change forms, and FedEx labels.

- Business Acumen:
- Understand procedures for preparation and submission of certain court and regulatory filings, and coordinate associated information gathering with other internal departments.
- Understand Thomspon Reuters Legal Tracker billing system and department billing guidelines.
- Understand how to perform legal research.
- Understand legal hold, document collection, and e-discovery protocols.

- Engagement:
- Communicate with outside legal counsel and internal departments regarding certain litigation matters with respect to document/record gathering and scheduling.
- Communicate with local courts regarding certain filings.
- Engage management in various internal departments in processing contracts.

- Driving Results:
- Responsible for processing invoices and generating reports from Thomspon Reuters’ Legal Tracker matter management and billing system.
- Responsible for submission of certain court filings.

Education and Experience Information:
- Education, Certifications/Licenses:
- Required:
- Associates Degree or BA/BS degree in legal, business, economics, or similar fields, or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred:
- Paralegal certification.

- Related Work Experience:
- Required:
- 3 years experience in a law firm or corporate legal department experience.
