Job Title: Financial Analyst

Job Responsibilities:
The Financial Analyst at the law firm is responsible for a variety of financial tasks that support the firm's management and operations. Key responsibilities include:

- Creating and distributing month-end financial reports to senior management.
- Preparing and maintaining a budgeting database, including balancing budgets and distributing finalized information to relevant groups.
- Designing and preparing statistical reports on timekeepers for annual compensation evaluations.
- Assisting in the design and implementation of financial reports to monitor performance by cost center, practice group, and office.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting system issues to maintain data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Assisting in the development of an attorney-desk-top reporting application, which involves understanding the accounting system structure, developing links, and designing reports.
- Developing real-time reporting tools by linking relational databases.
- Performing data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for financial improvement.
- Staying updated with industry best practices and new financial technologies.
- Maintaining a strong understanding of financial accounting principles.
- Communicating and collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Occasionally traveling to other office locations as required.
- Completing other projects as requested.

Education and Experience Information:
The position requires the following educational qualifications and experience:

- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
- Three or more years of work-related experience is necessary, with experience in the legal field considered a plus.
- A minimum of three years of SQL experience is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of computer software is required, particularly Business Objects, Access, Iridium, Excel, Crystal Reports, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with legal software such as Aderant Expert, BillBlast, Prebill Manager, Emburse, Chrome River, and Intapp is preferred.
- A strong understanding of general ledger, balance sheet, income statement, and financial reporting principles is necessary.
- The candidate should demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for resolution.
- Excellent communication, time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with attention to detail, are required.
- The candidate should be a proactive, inquisitive, and analytical problem solver able to exercise independent judgment and recommend improvements in areas of responsibility.
- The ability to collaborate with all finance team members and effectively present information to legal professionals and colleagues is essential.
- Flexibility and the ability to prioritize workload effectively are required.

Salary Information:
The salary range for the Financial Analyst position at the law firm is $85,000 – $95,000 in Chicago and Washington . The offered salary will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to work location, individual skill set, previous/applicable experience, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
