Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal teams of business and IT professionals to plan, build, implement, and optimize innovative solutions for a professional legal services firm.
- Document requirements, define project scope and objectives, and formulate solutions consistent with overall business strategies.
- Elicit and document business processes and requirements using various methods such as interviews, document analysis, team meetings, requirement workshops, use cases, and task and workflow analysis.
- Assist with the definition, implementation, and enforcement of company-wide methodologies and practices.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, distill high-level information into detailed insights, and transform user requests into solutions that address underlying true business needs.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements to deliver methodology and project artifacts as needed.
- Understand and apply key process re-engineering and process improvement principles to enhance the value of technology-driven change.
- Drive and participate in application testing activities.
- Work independently with staff to define, evaluate, refine, and develop concepts into meaningful, executable projects and solutions.
- Pursue primary projects under the direction of the Senior Business Analyst and CTO.
- Serve as a liaison between attorneys, executives, staff, and technical team members.
- Responsible for eliciting and anticipating the actual needs of stakeholders and working to facilitate communication among individuals and organizational units, serving as a 'translator' in aligning the needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by information technology.
Education and Experience Information
- 4+ years of professional experience in an operations or analyst role with a financial services firm, law firm, consulting firm, or relevant related work experience.
- BS or BA or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with reporting and relational database concepts (SQL).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of attorneys, executives, managers, staff, and subject matter experts.
- Enthusiastic, positive, and entrepreneurial approach to complex technical challenges.
- Ability to work in a self-directed capacity on assigned projects and strategic R&D initiatives.
- Willingness to mentor team members and be mentored by others.
- Desire to learn proprietary systems and administrative processes.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
- Strong work ethic and dedication to owning and resolving problems.
- Eligible work locations include any law firm office or remote.
- Experience in JIRA is preferred.
