Job Title: Legal Administrative Assistant - LAB/EMP
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain positive contact with clients, attorneys, and staff, ensuring effective communication and relationship-building.
- Provide typical administrative support functions, including the use of specialized terminology relevant to the labor and employment practice area.
- Manage communications between attorneys and paralegals.
- Prepare and process legal documents, including multiple electronic filings in Ohio Courts.
- Maintain schedules and calendars for multiple attorneys and paralegals, ensuring all deadlines and appointments are met.
- Open and organize all team files for efficient access and reference.
- Perform data entry and maintain client systems, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.
- Prepare reinstatement and payoff letters, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Follow up on the return of filings to ensure completion and accuracy.
- Prepare overnight packages and ensure timely delivery of all outgoing mail, messenger deliveries, overnight deliveries, and facsimiles.
- Communicate with clients via telephone and websites as needed, providing courteous and effective responses.
- Maintain court dockets and prepare legal documents such as Pleadings, Motions, and Affidavits.
- Maintain accurate and current information in the case management system to meet client deadlines and adapt to industry changes.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, opposing counsel, court clerks, and other legal professionals.
- Prepare and format memoranda, correspondence, legal advertisements, deeds, assignments, and various other legal documents.
- Field calls from borrowers, clients, and other outside parties in a courteous and effective manner.
- Ensure timely, courteous, and thorough responses to a heavy volume of email correspondence.
- Develop and maintain collegial relationships with business associates and clients.
- Review title reports and recorded documents for accuracy.
- Proofread legal documents as required to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Provide support to attorneys in a high-volume, time-sensitive atmosphere.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed to support the legal team.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 5+ years of legal administrative assistant experience is required.
- A good understanding of the legal process surrounding labor and employment is preferred.
- Excellent technical and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
- The ability to type at a speed of 65 words per minute is required.
- Attention to detail with top-notch proofreading skills is necessary to ensure the accuracy of legal documents.
- Proven success as a positive team player as well as an independent worker is required.
- The ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects and priorities simultaneously is essential.
- A highly motivated professional who is enthusiastic about the opportunity of learning the labor and employment practice area is preferred.
Salary Information:
- The salary for this position is up to $90,000 annually.
- The pay type for this role is hourly.
