Job Title: Litigation Secretary/Practice Specialist I

Job Responsibilities:
The Litigation Secretary/Practice Specialist I role involves supporting litigation attorneys and paralegals in all aspects of legal cases, from the initial filing through trial and appeal. The key responsibilities include:

- Formatting, editing, and managing legal documents such as pleadings and discovery.
- Scheduling and coordinating court dates, filing deadlines, travel arrangements, and related planning.
- Conducting conflict checks and handling new matters, including preparing engagement letters and managing client and case documents.
- Working closely with attorneys and paralegals to prepare and file official correspondence using the firm’s standards and procedures.
- Communicating regularly with the team and ensuring accuracy by double-checking work products before presenting them to attorneys for review and again before sending or filing.
- Being available and able to work during core business hours.

Education and Experience Information:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with substantial and relevant work experience. A bachelor's degree or some college is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of litigation experience in a law firm is required.
- Experience with document productions and e-discovery is necessary.
- A secretarial certification or ABA-approved paralegal certification is preferred.

Additional Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of Superior and Federal Courts rules and procedures.
- Ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work overtime, evenings, and weekends, as needed.
- Possess excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.

Computer/Software Knowledge:
- Proficiency in Windows 11, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, and Teams is required.
- Experience working with a document management system and the ability to quickly learn new skills and systems is necessary.

Work Environment:
- The current firm policy is hybrid, requiring work in the office a minimum of 3 days per week and working from home the rest of the week, subject to change.
- Overtime may be required as the job duties demand.

Salary Information:
- The pay range for this position in California is to per hour.
