Job Title: Legal Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Assistant at the law firm is responsible for managing a moderate to high-volume caseload, primarily focusing on pre-litigation tasks. The role demands excellent multitasking, prioritization, and organizational skills to maintain efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in all aspects of personal injury cases from initiation to conclusion.
- Handling pre-suit communications and serving as the central communication point between clients, attorneys, medical providers, lien holders, and insurance companies.
- Coordinating and managing medical treatment care for clients, and escalating issues to the Paralegal and Attorney as necessary.
- Gathering and organizing records, police reports, and other relevant documents.
- Communicating and corresponding with clients, lien holders, providers, and others within the legal community.
- Maintaining and organizing client files.
- Reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing case files and medical records.
- Performing other duties as assigned to support the legal team.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with computers, telephone lines, and other related office equipment. The candidate must possess strong organizational skills, the ability to follow instructions, switch tasks quickly, and meet deadlines. It is essential to exercise sound judgment, work independently, and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial, along with planning and reporting abilities. Multitasking and time-management skills are necessary to prioritize tasks efficiently. A customer service attitude and the ability to handle and keep client information confidential are also required.
