Job Title: Collection Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Assign debt collectors their work schedules and ensure adherence
- Meet client and firm work standards
- Maintain adherence to firm and client compliance policies
- Train and ensure full knowledge of portfolio and audit procedures for collectors
- Ensure adherence to client criteria, including litigation, settlements, programs, working accounts, account closing, client recovery goals, remittance periods, and direct payments
- Meet client recovery goals set by the client or senior management
- Evaluate collectors monthly for performance and inform Vice President of Collections of any issues
- Track all payments and notify financial operations of any posting issues such as unavailable funds, debtor requests, etc.
- Monitor and track client portfolios for the unit
- Motivate collection staff and maintain a positive work environment
- Monitor and forward time off requests to Director for approval, review time records and schedule changes, ensuring coverage in the unit
- Comply with policies and procedures of the law firm
- Ensure compliance with FDCPA and state consumer protection laws
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Information:
- Credit card collections experience
- Minimum three years of experience in call center management, preferred
- Knowledge of the FDCPA and state consumer protection laws
- Must be able to perform all collection duties
- Ability to work professionally and courteously with debtors, coworkers, and clients
- Effective decision-making skills
- Excellent coaching/mentoring skills
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Able to work efficiently on computerized systems
Physical Qualifications:
- Be able to lift five pounds or greater
- Be able to sit 90% of the workday at times
- Be able to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed
- Be able to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence
- Be able to communicate in a common language with individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing
- Be able to travel occasionally when needed by the most efficient means of transportation
- Be able to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device
- Be able to complete a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek schedule
Salary Information:
The base salary range for this position is $60,000-65,000 per year.
