Job Title: Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster (Case Manager)
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage in daily interaction with existing and potential clients both via telephone and in person, ensuring clear and empathetic communication.
- Order and manage medical records from providers, maintaining communication with both clients and providers throughout the treatment process.
- Obtain necessary documents to support injury and/or liability positions, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Interact with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances, facilitating clear communication between all parties.
- Negotiate case settlements with insurance carriers, aiming for the best possible outcome for clients.
- Negotiate the deduction of outstanding medical balances with providers, ensuring that settlements are fair and equitable.
- Work collaboratively with multiple coworkers involved in the management and support of case files, fostering a team-oriented environment.
- Maintain organized case files to ensure easy access to information and efficient case management.
- Prepare comprehensive demands and assemble support for submission to carriers, ensuring that all necessary documentation is included.
- Interact with attorneys and present case synopses when required, providing clear and concise information to support legal proceedings.
- Manage case files from intake to closing under the direction of an attorney, ensuring that all aspects of the case are handled efficiently and effectively.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred, providing a strong educational foundation for the role.
- Prior experience as a Personal Injury Case Manager is preferred, offering relevant experience in managing similar cases.
- At least two years of experience working in a legal position or as an insurance adjuster is preferred, providing valuable industry knowledge and expertise.
- Proficient negotiating skills are required to effectively manage settlements and interactions with insurance companies and medical providers.
- Ability to work as a team player and follow procedures, ensuring smooth collaboration with coworkers and adherence to firm guidelines.
- Proactive interaction with clients, insurance companies, and medical providers, demonstrating initiative and strong interpersonal skills.
- Must possess the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision, showcasing strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment, ensuring efficient case management.
- Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail, ensuring clear and accurate documentation and communication.
- Extensive computer and database expertise, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to type no less than 35 words per minute.
- This position is not remote eligible, requiring an on-site presence to effectively manage case files and interact with clients and colleagues.
