Job Title: Litigation Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
The Litigation Paralegal at the law firm will be responsible for providing high-level, detail-oriented, and proactive litigation support. The role involves tracking and managing various aspects of the discovery process, including organizing, maintaining tracking charts, conducting searches, handling productions, redactions, and logging document dispositions. The paralegal will also track and manage expert materials, analyze and organize large sets of information and data, and demonstrate knowledge and expertise in civil litigation, state and federal court procedures, and working with regulatory bodies such as the FDA, CPSC, and NHTSA. Additional responsibilities include researching, preparing, and filing agency, state, and federal court filings, citing and fact-checking briefs, and gaining and utilizing a deep understanding of product liability laws and issues in industries such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food, agriculture, consumer and automotive products, toxic torts, and sports law.

The paralegal will manage medical records collection and review, analyze records, and compile medical chronologies. They will assist with research, such as rules and procedures, public searches, and compiling information for attorney review. The position also involves organizing documents, preparing witness files and materials for deposition, preparing materials, and coordinating logistics for trial/arbitration. The paralegal is expected to attend trials and provide onsite support, as well as undertake special projects and duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for the Litigation Paralegal position, a candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree and have at least three years of experience. A paralegal certificate is preferred. Alternatively, five or more years of related experience can be considered in place of formal education. Previous experience with litigation at the federal and state levels is required, along with experience handling medical records. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook and PowerPoint, is necessary. Proficiency in tracking, organizing, and running basic calculations and analytics using Excel is strongly preferred. Experience as a paralegal in a law firm is strongly preferred, as is experience in CM/ECF or local e-filing systems.

Salary Information:
The anticipated initial hourly rate for the Litigation Paralegal position is between and per hour based on a workweek. The actual initial hourly rate may be above or below this range and will depend on relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including the location where the position is filled. This position is a non-exempt role paid on an hourly basis. The hourly rate is just one component of the law firm's total compensation and benefits package, which includes a discretionary bonus, life, health, accident, and disability insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
