Job Title: Director of Marketing and Engagement

Job Responsibilities:

The Director of Marketing and Engagement at the law firm is responsible for providing leadership and management to the Marketing team and overseeing strategic direction and firmwide and practice-specific campaigns. This role is pivotal in driving client and prospect engagement, supporting revenue growth objectives, and ensuring alignment with the firm's business development goals. Key responsibilities include:

- Developing and implementing a multi-year strategic roadmap aligned with the firm's business goals, focusing on marketing technology, content, campaign initiatives, and events.
- Identifying opportunities for innovation and digital transformation across marketing functions.
- Serving as a strategic peer for positioning and promoting key services, campaigns, and events to drive demand, growth, and loyalty.
- Benchmarking the firm's marketing infrastructure, performance, and investment against industry best practices and reporting findings to the Chief Business Development and Marketing Officer (CBDMO).
- Developing and managing the department budget strategy, prioritizing investments across technology, events, and operations.
- Establishing a cohesive technology vision and architecture to support marketing and business development goals.
- Directing the evaluation, implementation, and integration of enterprise marketing platforms, including CRM, ERM, CMS, and marketing automation tools.
- Developing a data strategy to enable advanced analytics and actionable insights for campaign optimization and sales enablement.
- Acting as a brand steward, ensuring consistent messaging and visual presentation across all channels.
- Driving the development and implementation of marketing plans and campaigns, measuring and reporting on campaign metrics and efficacy.
- Maintaining a deep understanding of the firm's practice and sector focus, client and prospect targeting, and creating targeted campaigns.
- Collaborating with business development teams to create account-based marketing plans for key clients and developing compelling marketing collateral, thought leadership, and digital assets.
- Overseeing social media and employee engagement strategies to amplify brand visibility.
- Leading the optimization of events and sponsorship investments and establishing a firm-wide events strategy aligned with business development and client engagement objectives.
- Introducing innovative ideas related to digital marketing, data analytics, Generative AI, and emerging technologies.
- Implementing tools and frameworks to measure and optimize marketing ROI across all channels.
- Leading a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative, high-functioning environment focused on building an innovative, creative, and client-centric marketing program.

Education and Experience Information:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of ten years of marketing management experience, with a strong background in brand development and management, marketing communications, and digital technology.
- Advanced knowledge of marketing technology platforms, including CRM, CMS, BI tools, and marketing automation software.
- Strong leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple initiatives and projects.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, clients, staff, and outside contacts.
- Expertise in financial management, budget planning, and ROI-driven decision-making.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

Salary Information:

In the Washington . office, the annualized salary range for the Director of Marketing and Engagement position is $208,000 to $333,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
