Business Development Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Business Development Manager will provide business and client support to the law firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. The essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Conducting client, prospect, industry, competitor, and market analysis to inform targeted business development efforts.
- Assisting in developing and implementing strategies to cultivate business with current and prospective clients.
- Developing high-quality, tailored pitch materials and responses to RFPs with meaningful ideas and creativity to shape strategic pursuits.
- Identifying and executing cross-selling opportunities.
- Collaborating with the Business Development Director and practice group leadership to develop annual business and implement lateral integration plans.
- Demonstrating professional presence and attending firm leadership, partners, and all practice group meetings to provide business plan updates.
- Developing PowerPoint presentations to effectively communicate strategies and updates at meetings.
- Regularly developing compelling practice area content to reflect recent developments, updating practice collateral to reflect recent developments and enhanced capabilities.
- Developing and implementing industry-focused strategies and helping the practices leverage participation in important industry programs.
- Developing practice group directory and award submissions for publications such as Chambers.
- Collecting matter data for inclusion in the firm’s experience database.
- Developing systems to help track progress on practice group priorities.
- Assisting with the coordination of practice group events, sponsorships, advertisements, and speaking engagements.
- Collaborating with attorneys to develop individual practice plans and support key initiatives.
- Collaborating with the law firm’s communications team to effectively promote the successes of the practices, including identifying media, publishing, and speaking opportunities that align with the profile-raising objectives of the practices.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree or any combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- A minimum of five (5) years of marketing experience in a law firm setting.
- Experience working with an Intellectual Property group is highly beneficial.
- Experience managing a direct report.
Salary Information:
Compensation is dependent on several factors, such as position, location, education, training, and/or experience. The hiring salary range is $160, - $180,.
