1. Job title: Lateral Partner Senior Recruiting Manager for Baker Botts Law Firm
2. Salary range: $140,000 - $195,000
3. Experience: Minimum 5 years of recruiting experience, preferably in a law firm.
4. Location: Austin, Dallas, Houston, or Washington . (Hybrid position with 60% office and 40% remote work)
5. Department: Recruiting
6. Reporting to: Chief Recruiting Officer
7. Primary responsibilities:
- Manage firmwide lateral partner recruiting efforts
- Collaborate with departmental leadership and local office partners
- Serve as primary point of contact for candidates and search firms
- Research potential lateral partner candidates and gather market intelligence
- Maintain and manage the Firm’s database of lateral recruiting candidates
- Manage search firm relationships
- Interface with search firms to share the Firm’s brand and goals
- Track and maintain accurate recruiting data and metrics
- Energize the partnership to provide direct leads for lateral talent
- Report regularly to Firm leadership on global lateral hiring trends
- Prepare various reports on strategic hiring
- Manage candidate meetings and travel
- Manage, train, and develop Lateral Partner Recruiting Coordinator(s)
- Other projects as assigned by Chief Recruiting Officer
8. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of recruiting experience, including lateral partner recruiting
- Experience in a law firm preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and build relationships quickly
- Self-starter with the ability to exercise independent judgment
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with recruiting systems, such as viRecruit, preferred
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when necessary
9. Extent of contact:
- Extensive daily contact with lawyers, staff, and colleagues
- Frequent contact with outside vendors and potential lateral hires
10. Physical demands:
- Ability to lift and carry file folders weighing up to 5-10 pounds
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time
- Extensive telephone use
- Ability to lift, squat, kneel, and bend
- Ability to visit face-to-face and on the phone with lateral lawyer candidates and firm lawyers
11. Working conditions and environment:
- Typical office work environment
- Some travel required, including weekend and week-long recruiting events
- Full-time position with standard hours, but may require additional hours and schedule changes
- Ability to work well in high-pressure environments
- Must be able to make site visits for event planning purposes
