Job Title: Litigation Legal Assistant

Job Responsibilities:

The Litigation Legal Assistant is a crucial member of the litigation team at a law firm, tasked with providing high-level administrative and organizational support to multiple litigation attorneys. This position plays a significant role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of legal cases. The assistant's duties encompass document preparation, case coordination, scheduling, and communication with clients and court officials. The key responsibilities include:

- Document Management:
- Drafting, formatting, proofreading, and finalizing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
- Filing documents electronically with courts, ensuring compliance with state and federal filing deadlines and procedures.

- Client and Court Communication:
- Acting as a professional point of contact for clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and vendors.
- Responding to inquiries and relaying accurate messages to attorneys promptly.

- Scheduling and Calendar Management:
- Managing attorneys’ calendars by coordinating court dates, depositions, client meetings, and other key deadlines.
- Scheduling and confirming appointments with clients, witnesses, and court reporters.

- Administrative Support:
- Preparing expense reports and managing billing-related documentation.
- Monitoring deadlines and following up on outstanding tasks to ensure timely completion.
- Performing ad-hoc administrative assignments as needed.

Education and Experience Information:

- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor’s degree is considered a plus.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of administrative experience in a legal or corporate environment is required, preferably supporting a legal department.

Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with legal document management software, such as iManage.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, processes, and protocols.

Work Environment:

- The law firm’s hybrid policy allows for four remote workdays per month. The remaining days require in-office attendance.
- The office environment is professional, collaborative, and focused on supporting high-stakes legal work in a law firm.
- Overtime may be required on an as-needed basis.

Salary Information:

The salary range for the Litigation Legal Assistant position is between $75,000 and $85,000.
