Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will be working on bankruptcy matters, including (i) entering data using Best Case software; and (ii) filing schedules and formatting and filing motions (as well as self-scheduling where required) and other documents in bankruptcy court using the PACER system. Conducting and analyzing judgment and lien reports pertaining to businesses and individuals in Allegheny and surrounding counties. Conducting and analyzing business and UCC searches on the Pennsylvania Department of State website. Reviewing, preparing, and filing UCC financing statements and UCC terminations/amendments. Coordinating recordation of mortgages, deeds, and other recordable instruments. Formatting and filing pleadings and other documents in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County. Answering phones when another staff is at lunch or as may be necessary otherwise from time to time. General office work, including opening and maintaining files, and making copies. Performing basic marketing functions, and updating the website and social media platforms. Respond to written or verbal requests from attorneys regarding other matters related to the law practice on an as-needed basis. Must have the ability to learn the use of Sage Timeslips time entry and billing system and perform tasks related to the monthly client billing. Should preferably have 1+ years of experience. A paralegal certificate is required or a four-year college degree. Should be the ability to use Lexis-Nexis. Should be highly motivated and a self-starter. Should have the ability to interact well with attorneys, staff, and clients. Excellent organizational, writing, and proofreading skills are essential. Should have the ability to track and meet deadlines. Should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (., WORD, Excel and PowerPoint). Must be able to maintain positive contact with attorneys, other support staff, clients, and vendors.
