Case Manager/Paralegal The candidate will be monitoring all court and other established deadlines in all assigned cases or proceedings, including motions, discovery, and general case related statutory deadlines. Meeting deadlines, documenting actions, inputting information into file database and case management software. Working closely with the Attorney to oversee case management from inception through trial and post-trial. Preparing and drafting routine legal documents independently in accordance with established guidelines to include, letters, pleadings, contracts, motions, etc. Filing court documents through case management electronic case filing (CM/ECF) system and ensure transmittal and receipt by the court before established deadlines. Exercise initiative in preparing and submitting documents for approval, ensuring legal documents are properly formatted and thoroughly proofread for punctuation, spelling, and grammar to produce a finished product. Providing reception assistance. Preparing documents for mail distribution. Associates degree and paralegal certification is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred. Should have 2+ years of experience as a paralegal or performing legal work which demonstrates a basic knowledge of legal research and the ability to interpret legal decisions. Should have the ability to work independently and stay on task. Should have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced and energetic environment. Should have the ability to appropriately prioritize tasks to ensure deadlines are met. Experience reviewing police reports, discovery, and other court documents are needed. Experience conducting legal researching on legal issues are essential. Experience drafting motions, pleadings, court orders and conducting civilian interviews are needed. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Adobe, Westlaw, and Case Filing System.
