Job Title: Legal Assistant 2 (Multiple Openings)

Job Responsibilities:
As a Legal Assistant 2 within the organization, the primary responsibility is to provide legal assistance to prosecutors by performing a range of legal case management and support activities for criminal prosecution. The role primarily focuses on supporting the prosecution of cases involving felony charges or complex specialty misdemeanors. Typical support work includes reviewing and entering information in a case management system, preparing legal documents and correspondence from form templates, reading and interpreting legal documents, maintaining case files, and trial preparation. The position requires applying knowledge of legal terminology, organizational skills, and judgment to prioritize competing tasks while working collaboratively with other support staff members. The role demands high standards of professional conduct and ethics in both professional and personal life.

Education and Experience Information:
Required Minimum Qualifications/Transferrable Skills:
- A minimum of two years of experience providing professional administrative support, including compiling and processing sensitive, confidential records in a database, referencing written procedures to carry out complex work processes, drafting, proofing, and preparing documents and correspondence, establishing priorities and managing workload with minimal supervision, processing a high volume of work within time constraints, responding to customer service inquiries, and experience using legal terminology, general legal office procedures, and/or other relevant legal processes.
- Strong data entry skills.

Preferred Special Qualifications/Transferrable Skills:
- At least one year of experience entering data into Prosecutor By Karpel (PbK) Case Management System.
- Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) Certification.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Experience providing administrative support for criminal prosecution cases.
- Experience using Oregon eCourt Case Information (OECI) or CLASSWeb systems.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Must pass post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
- Must pass a criminal history check, which may include national or state fingerprint records check.
- Driving may be necessary for County business; incumbents must possess a valid driver's license or an acceptable alternative method of transportation.

Post-Employment Requirements:
- Requires possession of Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) certification within sixty days of hire.

Salary Information:
Annual Pay Range (Effective 7/1/2025): $58, - $73,.
Hourly Pay Range (Effective 7/1/2025): - .
Salary offers will be based on a candidate's experience that is directly relevant to the position.
