Job Title: Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide clerical and administrative support to attorneys and legal professionals, ensuring smooth operation of legal activities.
- Proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and completeness, maintaining high standards of legal documentation.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and editing contracts and legal correspondence, contributing to the preparation of legal materials.
- Transcribe dictations and prepare legal documents, facilitating the efficient processing of legal tasks.
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic files, ensuring easy retrieval and management of case information.
- Perform data entry tasks to update case information in document management systems, maintaining up-to-date records.
- Answer phone calls and take messages with proper phone etiquette, ensuring effective communication within the office.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings for attorneys, managing calendars and ensuring timely scheduling.
- Assist in managing calendars and deadlines for legal cases, helping attorneys stay organized and meet important deadlines.
Education and Experience Information:
- Previous experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role is preferred, providing a foundation for the responsibilities of this position.
- Proficiency in using document management systems and other legal software, ensuring effective use of technology in legal processes.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, critical for managing legal documents and case information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, necessary for effective interaction with attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, maintaining the integrity of legal processes.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures, aiding in the understanding and execution of legal tasks.
- Proficient in proofreading and editing legal documents for accuracy, ensuring high-quality legal documentation.
