Job Title: Real Estate Paralegal Team Lead
Job Responsibilities:
- Manages workflow coordination among assigned paralegals, including case/deal staffing and work reassignment. Collaborates with work allocation managers when necessary.
- Identifies and provides training opportunities for the paralegal team to ensure appropriate professional development.
- Assists the Associate Director of Paralegal Operations with administrative duties, including scheduling and reviewing/approving bi-weekly timecards and PTO requests.
- Partners with the Associate Director of Paralegal Operations to address potential performance issues, employee relations matters, or other areas of concern.
- Serves as a mentor to new paralegals and participates in the onboarding of new team members.
- In collaboration with the Associate Director of Paralegal Operations, schedules and hosts group meetings to inform paralegals about firm initiatives, new software implementation, and guidance.
- Performs substantive legal work on behalf of firm clients, as directed by attorneys.
- Coordinates documentation and closing of real estate transactions, including sales, purchases, leases, and mortgage financing.
- Reviews title commitments, title documents, and surveys.
- Ensures timely completion of all pre-closing preparation and post-closing follow-up.
- Conducts legal research, including the retrieval of statutes and regulations.
Education and Experience:
- Two of the following are required: Four-year college degree, Paralegal Certificate, and/or two years of previous paralegal experience.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred, or the candidate should have attended supervisory/leadership/managerial training courses as defined by their current supervisor.
Salary Information:
Pursuant to pay transparency laws, the estimated compensation range for this position in California, Colorado, Illinois, and New York is between $105,000 to $115,000. Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including relevant experience, skill sets, training, licensure and certifications, internal equity, market data, and other job-related factors permitted by law. The range is based on a full-time work schedule, and additional compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.

- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as legal software programs.
- Familiarity with electronic research tools and basic database skills.
- Ability to work overtime and off-site at client locations, various firm offices, and other venues for extended periods.
- Capability to regularly report to work on scheduled days and times.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but serves as a coach for other positions.
Travel:
Ability to travel up to 10 times per year for extended periods.
