Job Title: Evictions Legal Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
- Draft and file legal documents, including summons, complaints, motions, and other pleadings related to eviction cases.
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all records are up to date and accurate.
- Communicate with clients, occupants, courts, and third-party service providers in a professional and timely manner.
- Monitor important case deadlines and filing requirements to ensure timely compliance.
- Assist attorneys with court preparation, including assembling materials for hearings.
- Input and update case status and documentation in internal systems.
- Conduct basic legal research to support casework when needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all firm protocols and applicable legal standards.
- May be asked to perform other tasks as needed to support the team or business. These duties may change based on the company’s needs.
Education and Experience Information:
- 1–2 years of experience as a legal assistant or in a similar legal support role.
- Previous experience with eviction, foreclosure, or mortgage servicing is a plus but not required.
- Working knowledge of state and/or federal court procedures and rules.
- Proficiency with electronic court filing systems and legal document management software.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general office technology.
Salary Information:
The salary for this position typically ranges from to per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and other factors. Please note that the final offer may differ based on the candidate's specific qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity and business needs.
