Job Title: Senior Counsel – Treasury Management
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel to partners regarding treasury management products and services, including commercial deposits, sweeps, virtual account management, escrow products, and healthcare-related services, often in collaboration with financial technology partners and affiliates.
- Negotiate treasury management contracts with small, commercial, and government clients.
- Stay updated and provide legal counsel regarding compliance with financial services laws, regulations, and rules, with familiarity in cash management services and payment regulations (such as Reg. D, E, and CC).
- Offer advice on key regulatory issues, trends, and assist in developing business strategy accordingly.
- Collaborate with various internal teams, including product, client support, operations, technology, compliance, risk, and other legal partners, on product development, enhancements, and sales issues.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing client-facing documents, including product-specific disclosures and related process documents when applicable.
- Review treasury management-related vendor contracts.
- Review risk policies applicable to internal business partners and provide advice.
- Commit to building effective and efficient processes for legal engagement and continued support.
- Familiarity with payment networks is beneficial.
Education and Experience Information:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school is required.
- Must be currently licensed to practice in the courts of one or more states.
- A minimum of eight years of experience, with at least five years representing financial institutions in the treasury management area.
- Must demonstrate strong judgment, decision-making, legal analysis, and communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with line of business managers and other attorneys.
- Knowledge of legislation, regulations, and case law affecting the practice area to provide practical legal advice, develop policies, and ensure compliance.
- Ability to represent the company effectively in interactions with external counsel and counsel for other parties.
- Ability to think strategically to identify trends and risks and facilitate and implement solutions.
- A self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively as required.
Salary Information:
- Base Salary: $130, – $291,
- Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data, and individual skills, experience, and education.
- This role is incentive-eligible, with payment based on company, business, and/or individual performance.
