Job Title: Legal Secretary

Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Secretary at the law firm is tasked with supporting the litigation practice in a fast-paced legal environment. The primary responsibilities include:

- Preparing and formatting legal filings, ensuring they are proofread, redacted, and organized with exhibits.
- Managing electronic filings with state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Opening and maintaining new client matters, including organizing documents, indexing, and managing electronic files.
- Conducting research and retrieving court decisions from Westlaw.
- Preparing correspondence, including cover letters for billing statements.
- Accurately inputting billing information into the firm's billing software.
- Scheduling and coordinating conferences and depositions, and maintaining attorney calendars.
- Processing and tracking third-party vendor invoices and collaborating closely with the accounting department.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Legal Secretary position should possess the following qualifications:

- A minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, with familiarity in legal filing, e-filing processes, and preparation of tables and authorities.
- Knowledge of New York and New Jersey state and federal court procedures and rules.
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Strong typing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Current Notary Public License preferred.

Salary Information:
The salary range for the Legal Secretary position at the law firm is between $60,000 and $80,000 USD. A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. The final salary offered may be outside of this range based on individual circumstances.
