The Attorney Development Manager is a key role within Jackson Walker, Texas' largest law firm, responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of professional development programs and initiatives for attorneys. This role is located in Austin, TX and reports to the Director of Attorney Development. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest and experience in attorney professional development or other professional services, with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in a law firm or professional services office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, develop, budget, and deliver annual attorney development core curriculum programs for all attorneys, with a primary focus on Associates within assigned practice groups or projects.
- Manage and coordinate all training programs within the Litigation Training Curriculum.
- Identify training needs for attorneys at all stages of practice and develop relevant training programs and curricula.
- Partner with external vendors and internal subject matter experts to create suitable content and materials for training sessions.
- Build consistent cross-firm attorney programming and encourage cross-firm training and development opportunities.
- Establish and maintain internal and external networks to coach, offer resources, and provide training.
- Stay informed of trends in the legal market and the legal professional development community.
- Contribute to and execute the goals of the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a law firm or professional services office.
- Strong interest and experience in attorney professional development or other professional services.
- Detail-oriented with strong execution and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to think critically and show initiative.
- Ability to handle confidential documents and information appropriately.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise and temperature.
- Some travel is expected for this position, with occasional travel to other Jackson Walker offices.
