Job Title: IT Internship

Job Responsibilities:

The Information Technology Intern at the law firm will provide direct technical assistance and support to staff for network, hardware, and software issues with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include:

- Installing and maintaining computer systems, including software and hardware on desktops and laptops.
- Resolving internet and network access issues, both wired and wireless.
- Providing network printer support.
- Meeting with staff to provide one-on-one technical assistance as needed or requested.
- Providing training to staff on software and hardware use.
- Determining causes of computer, software, or network malfunctions through evaluation and testing, and resolving issues via modifications, repairs, or external support assistance.
- Responding to user requests for service, troubleshooting problems, and helping develop solutions.
- Supporting PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software.
- Performing minor repairs to equipment and arranging for other servicing needs.
- Identifying and reporting system issues to vendors and monitoring and testing the resolution of those issues.
- Monitoring antivirus software and updates, and monitoring for malware or infections.
- Monitoring laptop backup software and procedures to ensure data is safely backed up.
- Recording activities, solutions, and other responses to requests for service in the ticketing system.
- Assisting in maintaining inventory records and documentation for equipment.
- Developing and providing user training for basic hardware and software use.
- Maintaining open communication and a positive working relationship with staff.
- Performing other duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:

Education: Candidates must be currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree and have a High School Diploma or GED.

Experience: A minimum of six months of paid or volunteer work experience with computer desktop support in a networked environment for a small to mid-sized organization is required.

Other Requirements: The law firm is seeking a student intern with exceptional customer service skills, solid troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment. Applicants must possess professional oral and written communication skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision. Experience with Windows 10 in a technical support environment and supporting recent versions of Microsoft Office Applications is necessary. Experience with networking technologies and printer support is preferred. Applicants must have awareness of PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software.

Physical Demands and/or Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to use a keyboard, calculator, and telephone. The role involves frequent sitting, talking, and hearing, and occasionally standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 20 lbs. The ability to adjust vision for close vision work is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
