Our law firm has an immediate opening for a Legal Secretary within the Business Law & Litigation department. The position is based in our Lancaster office and involves providing comprehensive support to a variety of attorneys.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Formatting and compiling pleadings, contracts, correspondence, business and corporate filings, and other legal documents.
- Filing legal documents, including e-filing in state and federal courts, agencies, and business filing systems.
- Transcribing dictations accurately.
- Corresponding with clients via email and telephone to address inquiries and provide updates.
- Maintaining calendars, including tracking deadlines, discovery responses, and court orders.
- Scheduling depositions, telephone and in-person conferences, and organizing Teams/Zoom meetings.
- Handling client intake and opening new matters as required.
- Typing letters, documents, reports, pleadings, and memoranda efficiently.
- Downloading and compiling filings from various court and agency websites.
- Reviewing documents for accuracy, proofreading, and ensuring proper formatting.
- Organizing and maintaining electronic files systematically.
- Creating and revising PowerPoint presentations and assisting attorneys with preparing client trainings.
- Greeting clients and visitors in a professional manner.
Education and Experience:
- A high school degree or GED is required; a bachelor’s degree is considered a plus.
- Candidates must possess exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Kofax/Nuance, iManage, PowerPoint, and Excel is necessary.
- Knowledge of the court systems is a must, while familiarity with business filing systems is strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
