Job Title: Real Estate and Corporate Transactions Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Real Estate and Corporate Transactions Paralegal at the law firm assists attorneys in the delivery of transactional legal services to the firm's clients. This role primarily focuses on sophisticated real estate transactional needs, especially involving renewable energy projects, purchases and sales, leasing, and financing transactions. The paralegal may often work directly with clients under the direction of an attorney. Key responsibilities include:
- Technical Information & Research:
- Extensive knowledge of real estate transactions, including the review of title reports, commitments, exceptions to title, and title insurance policies.
- Ordering and reviewing title reports or commitments and analyzing vesting, legal descriptions, and title exceptions.
- Identifying and executing curative solutions for title issues.
- Reviewing and preparing general correspondence, deeds, basic loan documents, easements, escrow instructions, and settlement statements.
- Assisting with the recording of documents with county recorders in various states.
- Basic knowledge of partnerships, LLCs, and corporations in relevant states.
- Reviewing and ordering good standings, certified organizational documents, litigation and UCC searches, and recorded documents.
- Filing related certificates, partnership, LLC, and corporate documents, and obtaining federal and state tax IDs and clearances.
- Docketing important dates, maintaining files, organizing closing documents, managing transactions, and coordinating real estate and finance closings.
- Client Services:
- Assisting attorneys in developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, title insurance companies, closing agents, government agencies, opposing parties and counsel, and other outside vendors.
- Administrative Duties:
- Entering billable time on a daily basis.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Essential Capabilities:
Candidates must possess the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, analyze and solve problems, and consistently produce detailed and accurate work. They should have technical knowledge in relevant practice areas, statutes, and regulations, and a strong client service orientation. Enjoyment of teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential.
Technical Knowledge:
Candidates should have proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software in a Windows-based environment. Skills with mapping software are a plus.
Education and Experience:
A high school degree or equivalent is required, with a college degree preferred. A Paralegal Certificate is a definite plus. Candidates must have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Salary Information:
The pay range for this position is $55,000 - $106,000, although the base compensation may vary based on skills and overall experience. This salary range is based on market location.
Additional Information:
This is a hybrid position, non-exempt, and eligible for overtime compensation. Normal work hours are 8:30 . to 5 ., Monday through Friday, with the possibility of longer hours during peak workload periods.
