Job Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Paralegal at the law firm involve comprehensive case management of all litigation files. The candidate may also be required to assist in pre-litigation files when necessary, and having knowledge of the pre-litigation process is advantageous. The Paralegal must be adept at using the e-filing portal and familiar with the Florida Civil Rules of Procedures, including guidelines and deadlines. The role requires submitting orders according to any judge's guidelines and using tools such as CourtMaps, JAWS, and eFiling with the proposed order option. Knowledge of federal court guidelines and submission procedures is considered a plus.
The Paralegal must be a team player, assisting handling attorneys with hearings, motion calendars, discovery, case management reports, updates, and status calls. The candidate should possess knowledge of legal terminology and have experience with releases, billing, and preparing settlement statements. Generating letters and maintaining all guidelines are also part of the job. The Paralegal is expected to be organized, bilingual, punctual, and reliable.
Education and Experience Information:
The job requires the Paralegal to have experience in case management of litigation files and familiarity with the pre-litigation process. Experience with legal terminology, releases, billing, and preparing settlement statements is necessary.
