Job Title: Business Development Manager - IP

Job Responsibilities:
The Business Development Manager - IP is responsible for driving revenue opportunities and enhancing the market presence of the law firm. Working closely with sector and practice leaders, the manager will develop and execute strategies that align with the firm's IP objectives. Key responsibilities include:

- Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate with Communications and other Business Development teams to deliver thought leadership that enhances the firm's reputation and facilitates client engagement.
- Pitch Development: Assist partners in formulating pitch strategies and creating differentiated value propositions based on market and sector capabilities.
- Content Creation: Lead the drafting of marketing collateral, presentations, bespoke pitches, and RFP responses, and assist attorneys with content drafting as needed.
- Client Engagement: Provide support to partners during strategic in-person or virtual pitches, offering guidance on best practice approaches.
- Market Intelligence: Work with Research and Business Intelligence teams to share market insights and identify revenue opportunities.
- Database Management: Oversee the collection and maintenance of attorney experience and client information in the firm's experience database.
- Event Coordination: Collaborate with the Events team to provide input on events, sponsorships, and CLEs.

Education and Experience Information:
- Experience: A minimum of 7 years of marketing or business development experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment, is required.
- Leadership: The candidate should have the ability to coordinate the work of cross-functional project teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Strategic Decision Making: The role requires superb judgment and decision-making capabilities with a strategic mindset.
- Project Management: Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, are essential.
- Conflict Resolution: The candidate should be highly skilled in resolving conflicts and handling challenging interpersonal situations with diplomacy.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are necessary, including the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Problem Solving: The candidate should have outstanding ability to analyze complex workstreams and develop efficient mitigation strategies.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with firm marketing systems; proficiency with generative AI tools is a plus.
- Education: A four-year college degree or equivalent experience is required; an MBA is preferred.

Salary Information:
The expected salary range for this position varies depending on the location:

- California Major Markets (San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica): $101,000 - $180,000
- New York City: $116,000 - $180,000
- National: $91,000 - $153,000

The law firm is committed to providing a comprehensive and competitive total compensation package. The level of pay within the range will depend on various job-related factors, including qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, and geography. Additional compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, determined by firm and individual performance.
