Alumni Relations and Career Services Assistant at Top International Law Firm in New York
The Law Firm of Cleary Gottlieb is seeking an Alumni Relations and Career Services Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of experience to support the department of Alumni Relations and Career Services in coordinating with all 16 offices and engaging the network of over 7,200 alumni worldwide. The expected start date for this position is early June 2025, and the estimated base salary range is $65,000.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support all members of the Alumni Relations and Career Services team and collaborate with all departments and constituencies to promote clear communication, steady workflow and shared knowledge on projects and initiatives.
- Assist with alumni event planning, including creating and managing event-specific folders, tracking RSVPs, and coordinating event details.
- Maintain alumni database and assist with alumni engagement, including updating contact information, performing targeted alumni searches, and posting content to the alumni website.
- Organize associate farewell process, including scheduling farewell chats and dinners, researching potential venues, and managing RSVPs.
- Provide support for career services, including posting job opportunities on alumni website and LinkedIn group.
- Assist with departmental presentations for internal groups and handle logistical details.
- Think ahead to preempt any deadlines for upcoming events/projects to support the Director and Manager of Alumni Relations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 1-3 years of experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent computer, writing, and communication skills.
- Professional demeanor, client service orientation, and strong emotional intelligence.
- Discretion in handling sensitive material and a creative approach to problem solving.
- Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and flexibility to work overtime for evening events.
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for contributing to the department's overall success.
The expected start date for this position is early June 2025, and the estimated base salary range is $65,000. This is a non-exempt role, meaning it is eligible for overtime pay.
