Job Title: Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The paralegal will be responsible for managing cases for their reporting attorney(s). This includes several key duties such as:
- Drafting Pleadings: Prepare legal documents that state the parties' positions and issues for the court.
- Drafting Discovery: Create documents and requests for obtaining evidence from the other party.
- Drafting Orders: Write orders for the court that outline the decisions made.
- E-filing: Submit legal documents electronically to the court.
- Managing Attorney Calendars: Organize and schedule meetings, hearings, and deadlines for attorneys.
- Creating Hearing and Trial Binders: Assemble all necessary documents and evidence for hearings and trials.
- Creating and Maintaining Case Files: Organize and update files with all necessary case information.
- Taking Potential Calls: Handle initial client inquiries and potential new client calls.
- General Administrative Duties: Perform various administrative tasks as needed.
- Deadline Management: Ensure all legal deadlines are met in a timely manner.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates should have 2-5 years of litigation experience. Fast typing skills are necessary for the role. While being a Spanish speaker is considered a plus, it is not a requirement for this position. This job requires the candidate to work in-person only.
