Job Title: ServiceNow Configuration & Asset Management Engineer

Job Responsibilities:
The ServiceNow Configuration & Asset Management Engineer at the law firm is tasked with a variety of responsibilities centered around the development, implementation, and maintenance of ServiceNow solutions. This role demands a deep understanding of Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Information Technology Operations Management (ITOM), and Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) functionalities. Key responsibilities include:

- Designing, implementing, and maintaining CMDB solutions as the primary developer.
- Developing robust relationship mappings and maintaining the data dictionary to ensure data accuracy and stability.
- Enhancing the CMDB structure to support ITIL processes and business needs.
- Designing and implementing applications or scoped applications to meet ITOM and ITAM requirements.
- Creating custom workflows, policies, and scripts to improve automation and platform functionality.
- Utilizing custom widgets and Employee Center portals to enhance user experience.
- Building and maintaining integrations using REST, SOAP, JDBC, and MID Servers to ensure accurate data entry from multiple sources.
- Managing ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping to enrich Configuration Items (CIs) with comprehensive data.
- Integrating and aligning CMDB with ITAM to track hardware, software, and cloud resources.
- Automating asset lifecycle processes to ensure seamless operations from procurement to decommissioning.
- Defining and monitoring KPIs to measure CMDB health, data quality, and alignment with business goals.
- Developing custom dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights for Technology and business stakeholders.
- Assisting with maintaining the ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
- Collaborating with the Technology and Platforms Applications management team to develop both short and long-term strategies.
- Working with various ServiceNow stakeholders to drive innovation and establish new productivity approaches.
- Ensuring 24/7 access to ServiceNow applications, continuously protected and online.
- Constantly tracking bugs, fixes, and testing of mission-critical applications.
- Researching anomalies and workarounds.
- Designing proper update and backup procedures, documenting the same, including functioning rollback plans.
- Managing change control and coordination of the release management process for ServiceNow.
- Evaluating and reporting on the health of the firm’s ServiceNow instances.
- Ensuring platform alignment with the business strategy.
- Providing consultative technical leadership to the platform team.
- Performing all other duties as assigned or required.

Education and Experience Information:
The position requires specific educational and experiential qualifications:

Required:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, iManage, and other firm applications following orientation at the law firm.
- Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours as required.
- A minimum of 4 years of direct applicable experience in technical-related fields specializing in ServiceNow architecture, implementations, design, and development. Senior candidates should have at least 6 years of direct applicable experience.
- Expertise in ServiceNow, particularly in supporting modules, configuration changes, and identifying performance issues.
- Experience with ServiceNow, focusing on discovery and configuration management (CMDB).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or PowerShell, and web service proficiency (REST, SOAP) as well as XML and JSON knowledge.
- Knowledge of AJAX and JavaScript to interpret code and provide customization advice.
- Understanding of ITIL processes (change, incident, problem management), Hardware and Software Asset Management.
- Strong understanding of Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM).
- Experience in gathering requirements and coordinating with Business Analysts and developers.

Preferred:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related information systems experience.
- An advanced degree in related disciplines.
- Familiarity with IS infrastructure, hybrid cloud environments, and challenges in maintaining an accurate and effective CMDB.
- Strong technical writing and documentation experience.
- Prior experience in a law firm.
- ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, ITOM Implementation Specialist, CAD.
- Experience with ITIL frameworks and operational best practices.
- Extensive experience as a ServiceNow developer, with proficiency in scoped application development, platform customization, and scripting (JavaScript, Glide API).
- Strong knowledge of ServiceNow ITOM (Discovery, Service Mapping) and ITAM modules.
- Proven ability to design and manage integrations with external systems using REST, SOAP, and custom connectors.
- In-depth understanding of CMDB data models, relationship mapping, and governance.
- Expertise in asset lifecycle automation and alignment with ITIL processes.

Salary Information:
The law firm offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, committed to fair and equitable employment practices. The expected annual pay range for this full-time position is between $110,000 and $155,000, with the final offer depending on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate. Senior-level candidates may be considered for a higher salary range based on experience.
