Job Title: Practice Analyst

Job Responsibilities:
The Practice Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the strategic and operational objectives of the law firm's legal project management efforts. This position collaborates closely with Practice Managers to ensure the efficient delivery of legal services. Key responsibilities include:

- Tracking performance against budgets, including weekly client reporting on changes in scope, accruals, and other performance metrics.
- Assisting in the preparation of work plans and evaluating resources for matter teams.
- Creating financial reports for matter teams relating to attorney utilization, client, and matter profitability.
- Monitoring progress against economic targets and goals, and initiating follow-up as needed.
- Analyzing client performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Assessing the profitability of both traditional hourly and alternative fee arrangements.
- Performing ad hoc projects and analyses as directed by the Practice Managers.
- Supporting the strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations of the Litigation and Corporate Departments.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Practice Analyst position should possess the following qualifications and experience:

- Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly in a fast-paced environment, anticipate requirements, and consistently deliver exceptional customer service.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with Finance, Pricing/Strategic Analytics, and Client Development teams.
- Proficient project management skills.
- Ability to be organized, multi-task, manage time effectively, and work independently.
- Superior attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work.
- Motivation to work in a fast-paced team environment and a desire to continually learn and improve results.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word, and Outlook; experience with databases is a plus.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in practice management, financial analysis, or a similar discipline, preferably in a law firm or other professional services environment.
- A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Economics, Finance, or Accounting.

Salary Information:
The salary range for the Practice Analyst role in California is $85,000 - $105,000. This range represents the law firm's good faith minimum and maximum range for this position at the time of posting.
