The **Members Only**'s Office is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable attorney to join their team as a Unit Chief Counsel. In this leadership position, the selected candidate will supervise the Environmental Protection Unit attorneys, staff, law clerks, and volunteers who are dedicated to addressing pressing environmental concerns in communities throughout Arizona. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
The ideal candidate will have 10-12 years of civil litigation experience and must be admitted to and in good standing with the Arizona State Bar. They must also possess a strong knowledge of statutes, legal research methods, and general legal principles, as well as the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Additionally, the selected candidate must have strong leadership skills and the ability to manage personnel, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
The Unit Chief Counsel will be responsible for assigning cases and investigations, mentoring staff with investigations, and working with attorneys on trial strategy and organization. They will also handle calls from consumers, businesses, and the press, participate in Attorney General forums, and review and modify legal documents. The selected candidate will also assist the Division Chief Counsel with administrative tasks and coordinating with other units in the Civil Litigation Division/Environmental Protection Section.
