Sr. Corporate Counsel
Job Responsibilities:
As Sr. Corporate Counsel at the company, you will play a pivotal role in fostering the organization’s mission-driven growth. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing strategic legal guidance across various departments including store operations, HR, marketing, IT, and franchise teams.
- Leading negotiations and drafting a diverse range of commercial agreements such as vendor contracts, franchise and license deals, and employment-related documents.
- Safeguarding the brand's integrity by resolving disputes, managing the trademark portfolio, and ensuring compliance with advertising and franchise laws.
- Offering legal advice on global data privacy and information security regulations, and coordinating information governance efforts.
- Managing litigation and dispute resolution, working with external counsel as necessary to protect the company’s interests.
- Assisting the Chief Legal Officer with mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance activities.
- Overseeing outside counsel management and monitoring legal expenditures and departmental budgets.
- Leading a team of legal professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work that is aligned with business objectives.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts to support various business functions, including supplier/vendor agreements and franchise agreements.
- Managing franchise-related legal processes including the Franchise Disclosure Document and state registration processes.
- Updating commercial contract templates to meet the company’s evolving needs.
Education and Experience Information:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one . state.
- 4-10 years of experience as a practicing attorney with expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and employment law.
- Proven ability to provide strategic legal advice in a fast-paced business environment.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- The position may require occasional travel.
Preferred qualifications include prior in-house experience and experience with franchise and trademark law.
Physical Requirements:
- The role entails sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during working hours.
- Physical demands include reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently.

Salary Information:
The compensation range for this position is $133,237 to $222,061 per year. Starting pay is subject to local and state minimum wage regulations and reflects what the employer reasonably expects to pay for the position.
