Job Title: Temporary Office Services Catering Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver courteous service to the law firm's staff, clients, and guests.
- Assemble and deliver all food, beverages, and equipment for scheduled conference services and catered functions.
- Maintain office pantries, which includes cleaning equipment such as coffee machines and other appliances, stocking supplies, cleaning and maintaining common spaces, and organizing and labeling items.
- Assist with conference room configurations by arranging tables, chairs, and equipment as needed.
- Complete daily scheduled tasks as provided by the Office Services and Facilities Manager.
- Provide back-up coverage for the front desk and reception services as needed, including meeting and greeting visiting attorneys, clients, and guests.
- Stock, clean, and maintain catering equipment and storage areas.
- Create and print signage for menus to support meetings and events.
- Assist with general conference room set-ups and clean-ups, including equipment, office supplies, and food and beverage service; restock beverages and office supplies in conference rooms as necessary.
- Respond to requests for assistance through the “NY Facilities” email and the New York Reception inbox.
- Utilize the conference room booking system (EMS) to generate daily service reports, confirm meetings and event requests, and visitor confirmations.
- Collaborate with other team members to execute on special projects as assigned.
- Perform other office services and facilities duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- Experience in corporate food service, catering, and/or reception and hospitality is required.
- A NYC food handlers license or serve safe certification is preferred.
- A college degree is a plus but not required.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Corporate food service experience is required, and law firm experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of food and beverage products, proper food handling, and managing food allergies and dietary restrictions.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Must work well with others in a team environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods without sitting and must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs, including pushing and pulling carts and bending without restriction.
- Effective communication skills with vendors and staff about catering and event set-up and clean-up requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions from a diverse group of clients, attorneys, staff, and vendors.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to ensure adequate coverage, including early morning arrivals and late departures.
- Willingness to periodically alter schedule to meet the needs of the department.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office products and learn job-related software and programs as needed.
Salary Information:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $51,000 - $69,000.
