Job Title: Senior Business Development Analyst – Industry Groups
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Business Development Analyst is tasked with driving the execution of marketing and business development initiatives for high-growth industry groups within the law firm, including sectors like Fintech, AI, E-Gaming, NewSpace, and Climate. The role involves raising the profile of these groups internally and externally and supporting initiatives that foster client and pipeline development. This position requires working closely with the business development and marketing team to leverage resources for executing, tracking, and measuring the impact of campaigns and initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting and driving marketing and business development initiatives for industry groups.
- Conducting in-depth research on markets, technologies, companies, and individuals relevant to the industry groups and staying updated on industry trends and developments.
- Supporting the Business Development team’s pitch tracking and reporting activities.
- Tracking and maintaining key attorney matters for the experience database.
- Participating in the production and execution of client events, speaking engagements, and sponsorships, including tasks like analyzing attendee lists, preparing materials, supporting attorney follow-up, and tracking outcomes in the CRM system.
- Preparing marketing and business development collateral, including both basic and tailored pitch materials.
- Collaborating with the firmwide business development team to support and drive industry, practice, and technology innovation initiatives.
- Acting as a resource and informal mentor to junior team members.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a law firm business development function supporting practices and/or industry groups is preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Candidates should have a strong customer service orientation and exemplary verbal and written communication skills, with an empathetic, tactful, and professional approach.
- The role requires someone extremely detail-oriented, with superior proofreading and fact-checking skills.
- Candidates must be highly efficient, organized, and able to remain productive and professional under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, is necessary.
- The ability to learn new software, systems, databases, and procedures quickly is important.
- The ability to work independently and in team environments is required.
- Candidates should be self-motivated, have a positive attitude, and possess a deep curiosity about technology, life sciences, and the new energy economy.
- The ability to travel and attend key events and meetings on occasion is needed.
Salary Information:
The primary location for this position is Palo Alto, but it may also be available in other locations such as San Francisco, Silicon Valley, District of Columbia, New York, and Seattle. The actual base pay will depend on various factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location. The anticipated pay range for this position is as follows:
- San Francisco and Silicon Valley: $102,000 – $138,000 per year
- District of Columbia, New York, and Seattle: $91,800 – $124,200 per year
The compensation for this position may include a discretionary year-end merit bonus based on performance. The law firm offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
