Job Title: Conflicts Analyst
Job Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze conflict of interest reports and related information to identify potential conflicts of interest and provide meaningful information upon request, including verification of client names.
- Prepare clear and concise reports documenting the results of specific conflict searches and highlight areas of potential conflict.
- Conduct research in the law firm’s internal databases and external databases to determine whether actual or potential conflicts exist.
- Collaborate with attorneys to document conflict clearances on new business submissions.
- Review data submitted for new client and client/matter acceptance, ensuring the accuracy and quality of information as well as assessing potential client relationships.
- Provide telephone assistance and respond to inquiries from Conflict Researchers and end users regarding conflict of interest checks, client/matter status, and end-user system support.
- Perform other duties as requested and assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor's degree (.) from a four-year college or university in Paralegal Studies or Business is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of law firm experience in conflicts/new business intake is necessary. A Juris Doctorate will offset the experience requirement.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong research skills are essential.
- Knowledge of database architecture or programming is a plus, and prior experience in utilizing automated conflicts systems is preferred.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills are required, including the ability to understand, analyze and prepare complex reports and converse with attorneys about conflicts issues.
- Ability to respond to inquiries from law firm personnel effectively.
- Capability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Aptitude to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadline pressure and provide quality work.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are important.
- Exhibit independent thinking and decision-making skills under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done.
Salary Information:
The expected annual salary for the Conflicts Analyst position ranges from $60,000 to $75,000. The salary offered will be determined by a wide range of factors, including but not limited to experience level, education/training, and relevant skills.
