Job Title: Litigation Docketing Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

- Review emails received within assigned public folders, including internal emails from case teams, scanned mail, and ECF filings/serves, to determine docketing necessity.
- Make informed decisions on whether docket items should be added to each case team's Outlook calendar.
- Assess and prioritize all received items to create a queue for each public folder.
- Communicate with case teams to gather necessary information on case setups and management.
- Perform limited research to verify the applicability of deadlines.
- Respond to inquiries from litigation teams regarding docketed events, deadlines, and rules.
- Maintain and strive to improve processes and procedures to ensure accurate entry of calendar/docket dates.
- Promote the law firm's docketing policies and procedures through all communications with litigation teams.

Education & Experience Information:

- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of current California and Nevada Litigation experience on case teams.
- Minimum 7 years of current Federal Litigation experience.
- Prior litigation paralegal or legal secretary experience is preferred.
- Prior work experience in large firms is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

- Substantial experience computing deadlines for state, federal, and appellate courts.
- Strong knowledge of litigation processes, court rules, and procedures.
- Strong critical thinking skills to process complex orders and analyze effects on other case deadlines.
- Ability to research, analyze, and summarize issues in writing with excellent attention to detail.
- Familiarity with various court websites, docket searching, and document retrieval databases.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization and collaborate well in a team.
- Must be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines and effectively prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor, and presentation.
- High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively.

Technology:

- Prior experience with rules-based calendar systems (ProLaw, Compulaw, or eDockets software) is required.
- Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly.

Salary Information:

The expected pay range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full-time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short-term disability, long-term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.
