Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney with a focus on employee benefits and ERISA to join its team. This role involves providing strategic legal counsel to clients on a wide range of benefits-related matters including retirement plans, executive compensation, healthcare plans, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of experience and the ability to manage complex legal matters with independence and professionalism.

Duties:
Counsel clients on the design, implementation, and compliance of qualified retirement plans
Advise on executive compensation strategies and nonqualified plans, including Section 409A compliance
Provide legal support on health and welfare plan compliance, including Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements
Assist with benefit-related aspects of mergers and acquisitions
Draft and review plan documents, policies, and participant communications
Navigate fiduciary responsibility and risk management issues under ERISA
Represent clients in ERISA claims, audits, and governmental investigations
Guide clients on fringe benefits, COBRA, HIPAA, and related federal benefit regulations
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee benefits law and ERISA matters
Substantive knowledge of federal statutes affecting benefits and executive compensation
Experience managing regulatory investigations and dispute resolution processes
Ability to work directly with clients and handle matters independently
Education:
Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited . law school
Certifications:
Active membership in a . state bar
Admission to the bar in the firm’s primary jurisdiction preferred or willingness to obtain admission
Skills:
Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
Deep understanding of ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, ACA, HIPAA, and related laws
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Organizational and time management skills with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice
