Job Title: Law Fellowship
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop legal expertise in areas such as housing, labor and employment, environmental justice, education, and health.
- Participate in the Agricultural Worker Program which focuses on protecting and fighting for the rights of California’s agricultural workers.
- Provide direct legal services and represent workers in administrative hearings.
- Engage in litigation on behalf of low-wage agricultural workers, including farmworkers and dairy workers.
- Conduct education and outreach on employment rights, health and safety, sexual harassment, and wage and hour laws to agricultural workers across California.
- Work collaboratively within the organization to achieve advocacy goals, as demonstrated by past court victories such as Carmona v. Division of Industrial Safety and Arias v. Raimondo.
Education and Experience Information:
- Open to rising or current third-year law students and recent law graduates.
- Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to working with rural Californians and addressing the primary issues that affect their lives.
