Job Title:
Legal Assistant / Paralegal - Workers' Compensation Defense

Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Assistant / Paralegal in the workers' compensation defense team at the law firm will have a diverse set of responsibilities. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of workers' compensation law, as well as significant experience in handling medical records. Key responsibilities include:
- Scheduling and docketing case-related event deadlines.
- Conducting communications with clients, opposing counsel, and judges.
- Finalizing and e-filing court documents.
- Drafting non-complex notices, motions, and subpoenas.
- Drafting discovery requests and responses, including the compilation of responsive records.
- Requesting, reviewing, and processing records and discovery, including medical records.
- Performing tasks related to Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs), including scheduling and compiling records sent in anticipation of IMEs.
- Conducting background and online research related to facts of the case, case witnesses, statutory requirements, and procedural rules.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must meet the following qualifications to be considered for this position:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in workers' compensation defense in Florida.
- Experience in the preparation of medical summaries and chronologies.
- Proven experience in requesting medical records.
- Demonstrated ability to execute billable tasks and enter time accordingly.
- An Associate's degree or paralegal certification is required.

Salary Information:
The position offers a salary range of $52, to $60, per year, as provided by the employer.

Additional Information:
This is a full-time position with a work schedule of 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. The role requires in-person attendance at the law firm's office.
