Job Title: Transactions Assistant - Corporate
Job Responsibilities:
The Transactions Assistant - Corporate is responsible for providing support to paralegals and/or attorneys by maintaining and organizing files, handling audit letters, preparing documents, updating and maintaining databases, preparing closing books, and obtaining information from internal and external sources. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and handling audit letters for various offices.
- Obtaining information from accounting, timekeeping, and attorneys for audit letter responses.
- Confirming the receipt of requested audit letters.
- Searching for client numbers and Billing Partners.
- Generating surveys and billing/accounting reports to obtain AR and WIP amounts.
- Generating conflict reports.
- Checking with the Responsible Partner regarding the inclusion of other clients/subsidiaries.
- Drafting letters on firm-appointed letterhead.
- Organizing documents for attorney review.
- Conducting research using internal and public websites.
- Assisting with preparing binders, closing books, making copies, entering data, and maintaining files.
- Performing database research and data entry.
- Assisting with corporate closings.
- Obtaining documents and information from governmental or public agencies.
- Assisting paralegals and attorneys with mailings and filings.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's Degree
Certificates:
- Paralegal certificate preferred
Minimum Years of Experience:
- 1 year of demonstrated success working in a fast-paced environment
Desired Skills:
- Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and database experience.
- Office experience in a law firm environment supporting paralegals and/or attorneys preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
Salary Information:
The expected hiring range for this position is – per hour, depending on the candidate’s geographic market location. Non-exempt positions will be paid on an hourly basis and paid overtime in accordance with applicable laws. The compensation offered for employment will also depend on other factors, including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. A comprehensive package of benefits is offered, including medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k).
