Job Title: Conflicts & Risk Analyst
Job Responsibilities:
The Conflicts & Risk Analyst is a critical role within the law firm, primarily tasked with identifying and resolving potential conflicts of interest related to new clients and matters. The role involves close collaboration with attorneys, management, and various departments to deliver conflict resolution and risk mitigation strategies. The primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting research to identify and resolve conflicts of interest for new clients and matters.
- Collaborating with Conflicts Attorneys to address complex conflict issues, escalating as necessary, and working with firm attorneys to comprehend client and matter engagement details.
- Partnering with firm attorneys and Legal Executive Assistants to understand conflicts needs and ensure excellent customer service.
- Leading and assisting with large and complex searches, requiring the supervision of multiple and large data sets, often working with teammates under tight deadlines.
- Managing and executing multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining high organization, and responding promptly to time-sensitive emails.
- Assisting in conflict searching for marketing purposes or other requests as assigned.
- Analyzing client engagement terms and providing analyses where needed.
- Delivering due diligence reviews for financial and compliance purposes.
- Performing client and matter maintenance, collaborating with teammates to regularly update the database and ensure its integrity.
- Conducting searches related to sanctions on a rolling basis and providing pertinent information to other firm departments.
- Maintaining and initiating ethical screens related to confidentiality and conflicts upon request.
- Performing other related tasks as required.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a and at least 4 years of legal conflicts experience in a high-volume environment, or equivalent experience. Candidates should possess:
- Knowledge of US ethical rules of professional conduct as they relate to conflicts of interest.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with web-based research for conflict checking purposes, particularly using tools such as InTapp and Aderant.
- Knowledge of legal search databases and accurate typing skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Superior organizational skills.
- Good judgment in email writing, conveying proper tone and demeanor.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize assignments and pivot quickly between tasks.
- Capability to work extended hours on a short-term and limited basis to accommodate activity spikes and urgent requests.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position, based on experience level and location, is estimated to be between $65,000 and $95,000.
